Mira, fotografia, exposa! | Educational project for young people aged 15 to 19 years in disadvantaged neighborhoods of Barcelona.

Foto Colectania and Think Human Foundation, a foundation promoted by Webhelp, organize with the collaboration of the Association A Bao A Qu an educational program aimed at young people between 15 and 19 years old from the Barcelona neighborhoods of El Raval, Besòs-Maresme and Zona Nord, who will participate in workshops of initiation to photography and to the field of the image. These workshops have started on March 2022 and will last 4 months. Afterwards, the participants will be accompanied for a year, to help them to deepen and professionalize in the world of image.

This training program will run for three years (school years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24).

The project aims to have impact in the metropolitan area of Barcelona with a community perspective, since it involves the youth technicians of the Pla de Barris de l'Ajuntament de Barcelona, the cultural dynamizers of the different districts, and various socio-educational entities in each neighborhood, as well as secondary schools. In addition, it aims to integrate visual pedagogy with the objective of showing the various job opportunities offered by photography as a discipline.

The ideation and development of the workshops and other actions of the program has been carried out jointly between Foto Colectania and the Asociación A Bao A Qu, an organization with extensive experience in the dissemination and pedagogy of photographic photographic creation that develops, among others, the program Fotografía en curso, in which more than 10,000 children and young people in Catalonia have already participated. The workshops will be led by three professional photographers specialized in image teaching, Consuelo Bautista, Mònica Roselló and Tanit Plana, with the participation of Webhelp volunteers.

At the end of each course, the young people will have the opportunity to show their work in a collective exhibition in a public space in Barcelona.
